Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there anything I can do to somehow be in touch with Dad?
A: He abandoned his rotary phone in the 1990’s, despises cell phones, but responds to queries sent to dad@dadswine.com

Q: I just bought some wine. When and how will I receive it?
A: Excepting temperatures around the country which are either too warm or too cold, all bottles will be shipped within forty-eight hours of an order.  Dad’s sends all packages in reinforced cardboard shippers, via either FedEx or UPS.

Q: Who is dad?
A: Dad’s Wine is administered by the team at Heirloom Café in San Francisco.  Dad himself is the voice of patience and wisdom, the person we have all encountered in one corner of our lives or another.  He always found a way to remind us of the importance of slowing down, to smell the roses, to enjoy a great meal.

Q: How will I be sure I like the wine?
A: You can’t be sure. We guarantee that the wines we offer have been made by experts, are frequently regional icons of their geographic homes, and have been perfectly stored, though we can’t guarantee for instance that you will have an affinity for mature dry chenin blanc.  We do promise to describe our wines concisely and to the best of our abilities.

Q: What is the return policy?
A: All sales are final, except in the case of any bottles which have suffered from effects of a shipping malfunction.  We take full responsibility for making sure that our bottles arrive to you in the same condition they are in when we send them.

Q: Are there certain kinds of wines you like more than others?
A: Yes.  We vastly prefer wines of all textures and flavors which are made to prioritize subtlety and depth of flavor.  Most of the time these wines range between 12.5% and 14% alcohol by volume, and they often come from Europe, although certainly not always.  We love wines that shine on the dinner table, and we are not very interested in the scores they are assigned by different publications.

Q: Why do your prices seem so low?
A: We believe that superb wine need not be extremely expensive, and that all of our wines over-deliver in terms of price and quality. We will rarely if ever be undersold by any other website or retail store in the country.
